Pre-K Peer Model Program

Albuquerque Public School District is proud to offer the PEER MODEL PROGRAM to children and families in our community.

The Peer Model Preschool Program is part of the Albuquerque Public School District Special Education Developmental Preschool Program (DDP) which serves preschool children with disabilities and developmental delays. We are excited to offer openings for typically developing children who are 3-5 years old. These peer models would be participating in a learning environment focused on developing communication and language, social, self-help, motor, and cognitive skills. Pre-academic skills are imbedded into the curriculum and help prepare children for kindergarten. Peer models also learn leadership and helping skills by modeling appropriate play and communication for their classmates with disabilities and developmental delays.
