News and Announcements

Parents: if your student will be in Kindergarten, First, Second, or Third grade next year and you would like them to jumpstart their learning, sign them up for our summer program to be held at McCollum from June 20 - July 25, 8:00am - 2:20pm.

For the registration letter, please click here or you may sign up in the front office.

Please look on the PARENT page for more information on free tutoring and job search help provided by Brainfuse and the NM State Library System!

Please refrain from calling into the office at the end of the day to give after-school instructions. If at all possible, please plan ahead and let your students know before school what the plan is. Interruptions to classrooms are very disruptive to teachers and students. By planning ahead, we can keep interruptions to a minimum.

Additionally, early pickups are discouraged at McCollum, especially during the last half-hour of the day. Students are receiving valuable instruction  and receiving homework and instructions for the next day.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Parents will be required to walk their tardy students to class. If you are picking up your student early for any reason, you will be required to pick them up in their classroom after checking them out in the office. Picture IDs are still required for early pickups. Thank you for your understanding.

Be Kind to Our Neighbors!

Please don't block driveways of our neighbors when in line to pickup or drop off students!  Thank you.

Parents of Pre-K students in our community...

McCollum offers an excellent Pre-K opportunity for your 3 and 4 year old students in the Peer Model program.

Students enter a special education Pre-K classroom and serve as peer models for the classroom. Students receive instruction that helps prepare them for kindergarten as 5 year olds.

Morning or afternoon sessions available.

Program only costs $60/per month.

Please call the office for more information.

Quality of Education Survey Letter

APS is interested in hearing about your and your student's educational experience at McCollum. Look for the Quality of Education surveys coming home with your students, fill out, and return to the office as soon as possible. Thank you so much for participating.
